Background

Mr. Trudell has worked professionally for various types of architectural firms in both Michigan and Wisconsin and on diverse projects located throughout the United States and the Middle East. He has been a registered Architect since 1991 in Wisconsin and Michigan since 2001. His responsibilities have included positions as Project Architect, Design Architect, Specification Writer, Construction Contract Administrator, Project Manager, and Client contact. Project types include new construction and renovation for K thru 12 public and private Schools, Colleges and University buildings, Transportation, Retail, Residential, Healthcare, Municipal, Religious, and commercial Office buildings. As a team player, he contributes his knowledge and experience working toward the successful outcome of each project. Problem solving is essential on complex architectural projects and David enjoys the challenge of finding solutions to the various questions that arise during the development of the Contract Documents for a project. His focus on the production of high quality construction documents benefits his clients and provides a resource for all the parties involved.

Ongoing relationships with product representatives and the products they provide contribute to the architectural specification services provided by TAC. Knowledgeable product selection and evaluation services are an essential component of TAC’s services. Specifications are legally enforceable Contract Documents and their accuracy and thoroughness are essential. David is dedicated to the use of the 4 - C’s of effective communication in the preparation of these documents; Clear, Concise, Correct, and Complete.

David has been an active member of the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) for over twenty years, contributing many hours of service to further the professionalism of the AEC industry. He served as Board President of the newly formed Chippewa Valley Chapter of CSI’s North Central Region in Wisconsin during the mid-90’s and President of Grand Rapids Chapter of CSI’s Great Lakes Region from 2006 to 2008. As the current Chapter and Region Certification Chair, he has organized and taught numerous Construction Documents Technologist (CDT) study sessions, as well as provide mentoring for CCS and CCCA certification exam candidates.
